Welcome to the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System’s (WCWPDS) Youth Justice page! Whether you are a new Youth Justice Professional, Youth Justice Supervisor, other Child Welfare Professional, or are simply visiting, we want to welcome and invite you to explore the resources we have provided here. WCWPDS is a resource for professional development and includes a variety of learning and development opportunities.

A career in Youth Justice is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding area of service! The work you do and the supportive engagement you provide are essential for building a future with youth, families, and communities. Here at WCWPDS, we strive to provide exemplary development opportunities and support services as you explore the most effective ways to support the families and communities you serve.

The “Essential Information” section is an introduction to the WCWPDS training system, training requirements, and the Wisconsin Child Welfare Model for Practice. Also provided are several useful tools, including a personal Professional Development Plan and instructions on how to use the PDS Online training registration system. The Child Welfare Professional Development Guidance tool is designed to aid in determining what WCWPDS learning opportunities can be a part of a path forward in professional growth.

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.”
